The Technology team at Mobysoft is a diverse mix of people spanning three primary disciplines - Product, Engineering and Data. Job Summary: As a Data Product Manager, you will own the strategy, development, and delivery of our data-centric products. You will collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and other cross-functional teams to define product vision and detailed roadmap. Your role will involve leveraging data to create impactful solutions, driving product innovation, and ensuring that our data products deliver meaningful insights to our customers.
Key Accountabilities, Activities and Decision Areas
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and communicate a clear vision and strategy for our data products, aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for differentiation.
- Develop and prioritise product features, enhancements, and new product initiatives that leverage data to solve key customer challenges.
- Data Roadmap and Planning:
- Create and maintain a comprehensive data product roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
- Work with stakeholders to gather and prioritize data product requirements, translating them into clear and actionable user stories.
- Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to ensure the successful execution of the product roadmap.
- You will manage the data product backlog, and lead sprint planning and scoping sessions, bringing an ability to prioritise and execute to our data services
- Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Utilise data insights to inform product development, customer segmentation, and feature prioritization.
- Monitor key product metrics, conducting analyses to identify trends, usage patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization, ensuring that product decisions are backed by sound data insights.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, design, sales, and customer success teams to deliver high-quality data products on time and within scope.
- Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to ensure successful product launches and go-to-market strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all data-related product inquiries and initiatives.
- Customer Engagement and Feedback:
- Engage with customers to understand their data needs, gather feedback, and ensure our products meet their expectations.
- Conduct user testing, surveys, and interviews to gather insights and validate product features.
- Translate customer feedback into actionable product improvements and new data-driven solutions.
- Industry and Market Expertise:
- Stay informed about the latest trends in data analytics, machine learning, and the social housing sector.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, showcasing our data products and capabilities.
Skills
- Demonstrable ability in product management roles, preferably a good portion of it designing and building enterprise software solutions.
- Experience with building client facing AI products from ideation to launch, especially those involving NLP.
- Ability to communicate complex AI/ML stories and our value proposition across the company and customers.
- Technical know-how and market understanding in the areas of AI/ML, analytics DBMS, Big Data stacks, BI/ETL technologies and SaaS software in cloud environments.
- Proficiency in diagram creation and visualisations.

Skills and Qualifications Required – skills, expertise and qualifications
Essential – Minimum Requirements for the job role
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, data storage solutions, and analytics frameworks.
- Experience working with data science teams and a solid grasp of machine learning and statistical models.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, with a strong focus on data products or analytics in a SaaS environment, you will be expected to clearly articulate the impact you have had on the products that you have managed.
- Deep understanding of data analytics, data management, and data visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI)
- Experience of building products that deliver customer value through visualisation of data and value through workflows that improve efficiency
- Customer, user and market focused; willingness to get out of the office with travel in the UK to client sites and engage directly with customers
- Ability to analyse complex data sets and make data-driven product decisions, a strong collaborator with experience leading cross-functional teams
