Senior Financial Controller (Netsuite/ACCA/CIMA)
The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial operations. Key duties include managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial reports for the CFO and investor, managing payroll and sales bonus schemes, managing audits and implementing internal controls.
Ideally the successful person will have proven experience of working for an SME, be ACCA or CIMA accredited and will have worked with Netsuite. Any experience of working in Private Equity will also be an advantage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller looking for a new challenge
Key Accountabilities
Responsibility for preparing timely month end financial reporting within Netsuite
Detailed monthly review of revenue to ensure accuracy
Maintain movements in Annual Recurring Revenue and reconciliation to revenue
Oversee the preparation of monthly forecasts (produced by Finance Business Partner) collaborating with CFO and Executive on changes in the sales pipeline and cost base
Preparation of monthly board reporting in collaboration with the CFO
Oversee the monthly reporting and submission to two PE houses and Bank which will be produced by the Finance Business Partner (Incl. quarterly covenant reporting, actuals and budget) .
Line Management of Finance Business Partner & Snr Financial Transactions Manager
Process payroll and liaise with HR to ensure processing of starters, leavers and other payroll changes
Oversee the administration of Netsuite, Docusign and Concur which will be owned by the Snr Financial Transactions Manager.
Liaise with third party tax advisors to calculate and submit adhoc tax reporting including PSA liability and other corporate tax liabilities
Responsibility for annual company audit and ensuring timely delivery of information to the auditors
With support of third-party solicitors, manage movements in shareholder equity
Oversee the legal contract population and support commercial team with procurement support. This will be owned by the Finance Business Partner with support fromm external lawyers.
Oversee the customer contract database (logging customer churn and notices) which will be managed by the Finance Business Partner.
Oversee the Sales Bonus commission plans, tracking and payment of commissions
Oversee the ISO27001 process which will be owned by the Finance Business Partner
Work with HR to maintain accurate headcount, open vacancy and cost to hire metrics.
Financial Management, Risk & Health & Safety
Accountable for achieving financial targets and reporting results where appropriate
Ensuring cost effectiveness of department and also ensure full compliance with Health and Safety procedures, especially concerning serious untoward incidents, and that investigations are undertaken openly and effectively with any resultant learning being shared with the organisation.
Skills and Qualifications Required – skills, expertise and qualifications
Essential – Minimum Requirements for the job role
Desirable
- CIMA/ACCA qualified
- Ideally 3+ years of experience leading and managing a finance team
- 2+ years’ experience of working in an SME finance function (100-250 FTE)
- Experience of working with NetSuite
Experience of working in Private Equity
Experience of working in B2B SaaS/ Technology
Key Success Criteria:
- Ensuring satisfaction and stability of the finance function as demonstrated by annual eNPS score
- Ensuring month end reporting (Sales flash and month end actuals) and board preparation deadlines are repeatedly delivered
- Timely completion of annual audit according to agreed audit plan, minimising any unforeseen adjustments
- Delivering payroll on a monthly basis with no errors
- Supporting the broader business in delivery of the OKRs
