Role Overview
The Technology team at Mobysoft is a diverse mix of people spanning three primary disciplines - Product, Engineering and Data. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Product Director/Director of Innovation to drive our pace and innovation across our PropertySense™ offering, helping us to become a true multi-product business.
The Product Management team needs to be the driving force to expand Mobysoft’s solutions and to drive innovation at pace, in a marketplace that is highly competitive and fragmented. The opportunity ahead of our business is significant, and we need the product team to navigate our way to success.
Success will come not only from your individual drive and performance, but also via working in a strongly collaborative fashion with your peers, including Director of Technology, Head of Data and Lead Delivery Manager as well as other key stakeholders across the business.
In the short term (12months), you will also take full responsibility for the RepairSense product line and in line with business growth, you will be able to hire an individual to assume responsibility for this product.
You will be working remote-first, reporting to the Chief Technology & Product Officer. There is an expectation of working time in the Manchester office, to support collaboration and relationship building. This is a key role within the business and will therefore also be part of the Operational Management Team (OMT), a small group of individuals that manage the business on a day to day basis. Additionally, you will be a key member of the Technology Leadership team, a small group of passionate individuals tasked with meeting ambitious product and company goals.
Key Accountabilities, Activities and Decision Areas
- Customer & Market Insights: Stay deeply connected to strategic customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Use this knowledge to inform the evolution of our product strategy and roadmaps and to identify new growth opportunities.
- Innovation Leadership: Identify and drive innovation opportunities, whether through new technologies (AI, ML, etc.), new product features, or exploring potential partnerships and acquisitions.
- Product Vision & Strategy: Translate existing multi-year strategy into actionable in-year execution. Set the direction for new product initiatives and enhancements of existing offerings.
- Performance Metrics & Analytics: Establish clear product performance KPIs and regularly assess product success. Use data to drive decision-making and continuous product improvement.
- Product Portfolio Leadership: Oversee the development and management of a multi-product portfolio. Ensure the products deliver differentiated value to the market and address customer needs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, sales, marketing, customer success, and data science teams to ensure cohesive and integrated product development and go-to-market execution.
- Roadmap Ownership: Lead the product roadmap planning process, balancing customer feedback, market trends, and internal priorities to drive product innovation.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a team of Heads of Product / product managers, ensuring their professional growth and the successful execution of product initiatives. Foster a high-performance, collaborative team environment.
- Go-to-Market: Work closely with marketing and sales to define product positioning, pricing strategies, and launch plans that drive adoption and revenue growth.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the product representative to the executive leadership team and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and reporting on product progress and performance.
Skills and Qualifications Required – skills, expertise and qualifications
Essential – Minimum Requirements for the job role
- Experience: Ideally 8-12 years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role, within a B2B SaaS or data analytics company.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of data analytics, business intelligence, data platforms, and related technologies. Experience working in a data-centric environment is essential.
- Leadership & Team Building: Proven experience leading and developing product management teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Strong ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to set a clear vision for the future of the product portfolio, think long-term, and make decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term goals.
- Technical Acumen: Comfortable working with technical teams, with a strong understanding of data architecture, APIs, machine learning, and analytics platforms.
- Customer-Centric Approach: Strong empathy for customers, with a proven track record of understanding strategic pain points and translating them into innovative product solutions.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to use data to drive decision-making, assess market opportunities, and measure product success.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success collaborating with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations to drive successful product outcomes.
